Bio

Born and raised in Basel Switzerland, Maya Schonenberger holds a degree in textile art. She lives and works in Miami

She is a full-time studio artist. Her award-winning artwork has been shown nationally and internationally. Her works were included in exhibitions like Quilt National, FAVA, Visions Art Quilt Gallery, Fine Focus

In addition to creating, Maya lectures, judges and teaches in the US and overseas. She was the curator of the National Park traveling exhibition “Piecing Together a Changing Planet”. The exhibition traveled through 12 parks / venues and has been seen by almost a quarter million people.

Her work is in private and public collections in the US, Switzerland, Italy, Israel, Brazil and Germany.
